Believe ye that I am able to do this?

Hey hey,
Here is the quote of the week from pieology: reputation is what men and women think of us; character is what God and angels know of us. -thomas paine
We had a special sister pday today where we all gathered for a talent show, testimonies sharing, and we all wore something that starts with the letter p. How cute huh?
I decided to randomly cut my hair this week. I have been thinking about it for months & am loving the feeling because I am finding more and more that I am able to detach myself from temporary human things and it's neat. Will it really matter in 1000 years what happens to my hair? It's a good question to ask about a lot of things. See this video, it's real good: https://www.mormonchannel.org/watch/series/hope-works/how-one-question-puts-life-in-more-perspective-stephen-jones
Just a pile of my ramen noodles

Anyway, this week was wonderful. My heart is full of love and we feel the spirit working through us everyday. Somehow it still feels like the beginnings of fall here, even without the changing leaves:)

We had exchanges this week and I was with Hermana Brooks again. We were volunteering at a thrift store and we were putting out the Halloween costumes. Can't believe it's already almost OCTOBER!
I'll just share a quick scripture I came across this week. Our mission is reading the Book of Mormon in 90 days and I'm almost done but it's so sweet reading this time around.
"And whosoever shall believe in my name, doubting nothing, unto him will I confirm all my words even unto the ends of the earth." mormon 9:25
Even unto the ends of the earth. Friends, I know this was written a little before the time of Christopher Columbus, but there is no end of the earth. He will confirm his words FOREVER. A big ol sphere of answers are coming our way, we just gotta have a little faith and patience. I have also been going quickly through the new testament and 3 nephi 11 to look at the questions that Jesus asked because they are always en punto. But one I really loved is in Matt 8.
"Believe ye that I am able to do this?"
I like em

This is also kind of timely because Peggy has been sick all week and one of the members came over to give her a blessing and it was a cool experience, helping her to understand the priesthood and faith a little more. But just something to ponder in life everyday:
Do you believe he is able to heal you? To fix your heart? To pass a test? To fix a relationship? To help you find direction?
I want to think about that more often act on that faith. Goodness I love Him.
Have a great week! Love always

FB

Not an easy week but C'est la vie!! We went to pieology for lunch this week and there is a wall full of quotes so I am going to share them.

"The miracle is this - the more we share the more we have." -Leonard Nimoy

Okay so to help explain a little bit more about facebook:
Because we are just beginning to use it and figure out the best way to use, our mission president is pretty relaxed about it and letting us decide the limits of use and how we use it. But to help you to know how to help me stay focused here are some things to tell you folks about how I'll be using it :
-We are using facebook to post uplifting messages, stay in contact with members in our wards and people we are teaching.
-However, a really neat thing, we are able to teach and be part of lessons with friends and family members back home  through facebook, messenger and the video chat now. I'll let that soak in for a bit.
- I can respond to posts and messages from friends and family on pdays.
- We won't be very in tune with the timeline so, if I get back and you're like "don't you know about this? you have facebook, I posted it a while back," I will probably have no idea. We are not spending time scrolling through the feed, and I will probably not be liking or loving any posts I see. But I hope you know I still like and love you. :)
-Temple Square has also begun to use Facebook so I will be using it the rest of my mission.
-Yes, it's been weird seeing people's faces that I haven't seen in over a year and finding out people are engaged and married and moved and just different. And yes I have LOVED being away from the social media world for a while. But I know that this technology has been given from God to help us to be a positive impact in the world and share the gospel in ways we could have never imagined before. So mostly I am just grateful. :)

Comp with a member's bunny. She had no idea how to hold it. haha
Annd the rest of the week
We had zone conference up in seaside on Friday and it was wonderful. President Hunt- my mission President here- is great at communicating to us in an organized way how we can improve as missionaries.

This week we had a lot of less active and part member family lessons. One of the sweetest families we have been seeing have 2 boys and a girl and their souls are just so sweet and deep. Their thoughts are also all over the place so it's hard to keep the focus during the lesson, but we managed with questions and videos and fun stuff. One of the younger boys told me, "you can come back every day and play soccer with us. We get out of school at 2:29." My heart I love those kids.
Here is a drawing they made of the plan of salvation, haha:)

We also met these two guys this week, Ben and Abraham. Named after some pretty cool people. They were so chill and just these huge guys. My companion and I are short okay, so we were a bit intimidated when we first saw them but WE FEAR NO MAN. (<---from the Ricciardi Letter) So we talked to them and they are so good hearted, love God, both are single dads but just putting important things on the backburner. We shared the restoration with them and Abraham has quite a few questions so we'll teach him more this week.

Peggy is so close to baptism. Peggy had a stroke a couple years ago and it majorly affected her speech. She has recovered so well, but she still has a hard time communicating. But she has been so brave in coming to church and communicating her thoughts and feelings and has told her son (who hates mormons) that she has been going to church with us, she reads and soaks up the Book of Mormon everyday. She is just having a difficult time with questions she has. So this week we're just taking a step back to help answer her questions, read together and help her strengthen her faith. We are praying for her to committ!! We've been fasting a couple times too. But it's up to the Lord to decide if and when she is ready. .."and [they] baptized all those whom Jesus had chosen." (3 Nephi 19:12)

I love the Lord and grateful for the trust He has in me to allow me to teach people about Him and the part He has in God's plan for all of us. I am so weak, so imperfect and so very far from being like him, but I am grateful for the opportunity to learn how and feel so close to Him here on my mission.

Today is a good day to remember Him, to remember 9/11, and to remember all of those people who are going through a lot. Hurricanes, fires, floods, typhoones, everyone's saying it, but you can blame it on global warming or maybe the second coming. ;)  All will be well if we build our foundation on the Lord. Helaman 5:12

Have a great week all you

The Earth is More Obedient than You

We were knocking on doors and found this street. Neet.
This week I was reading in the book of Helaman about one of the Nephis, another Nephi with a lot of faith. "Their names invite them to pattern their lives after their forebears." (And vs 6) Helaman spoke to his sons and basically said I gave you these names so that you will remember them, the things they did, and that they were awesome. And this Nephi was a great example to me of faith this week. He prayed they will have famine instead of war. That happened. Then they repent. He asks that the famine ends. It ends. it all happens because of his great faith and willingness to ask. I understand a bit more now why people name their kids after cool people.
Sister Tang and I have made goals to have greater faith this week. It has been a struggle.
A man at the mental health institution made us these paper flowers. ♥

Also in Helaman I read:
1 And thus we can behold how false, and also the unsteadiness of the hearts of the children of men; yea, we can see that the Lord in his great infinite goodness doth bless and prosper those who put their trust in him.
TRUE
12:
7 O how great is the nothingness of the children of men; yea, even they are less than the dust of the earth.
8 For behold, the dust of the earth moveth hither and thither, to the dividing asunder, at the command of our great and everlasting God.
9 Yea, behold at his voice do the hills and the mountains tremble and quake.
10 And by the power of his voice they are broken up, and become smooth, yea, even like unto a valley.
11 Yea, by the power of his voice doth the whole earth shake;
12 Yea, by the power of his voice, do the foundations rock, even to the very center.
13 Yea, and if he say unto the earth--Move--it is moved.
Summed up,this was a nice wake up call, a good motivator. "Hey, the earth is more obedient than you." So move.

So this week:
- We fasted this week for Peggy, hoping she will make the commitment for baptismo soon.
- The families in our ward have been giving lots of referrals this week. Grateful for their trust.
- We had short exchanges, I was with Hermana Brooks, from Morgan, UT I already adore her. See fotos.
Hermana Beautiful Brooks
-It was really hot this week. Up to 117 Saturday. Neat.
-The people here are still wonderful
- This mission is able to do online proselyting now, so my facebook account will be active. So weird. I will update you more soon about it all, we have zone conference this week and will have trainings on using it in missionary work.
Have a great week everybody. Happy Labor Day!
